All Inclusive Weekend

Sometime this week I'm supposed to start the elimination diet.  Except this weekend I kept calling it the extinction diet.  Or the exclusion diet.  What ever it is.  I'm supposed to start it this week.  It's supposed to help me figure out why I have had major GI problems for the last couple months.  I asked if it eliminated stress and the doctor said no.  I don't think it's going to work then.  I did a modified elimination diet a couple years ago to figure out asthma.  The only thing I had any problem with was gluten.  Except now when I have major stomach problems the only thing that helps is pizza.  Comfort food.  So I think my stomach problems are related to stress.  But I'm going to spend the next 4-8 weeks analyzing everything that goes into my body and how my body reacts 30-60 minutes later.  Then 4 hours later.  Then 12 hours later.  Then a day later.  Sounds like a lot of fun huh?

Since I'm starting the elimination diet this week, the weekend was an all inclusive weekend.  A lot of sun.  A lot of drinks. A  lot of food.  Too much swimming.  The weekend started with a beach run beach barbecue.  That went from the beach to a wine bar to a dive bar.  To having to text Chris "I'm sorry I puked on your shoes.  I hope you're enjoying your 100 mile ride".  Then I volunteered to pass out water bottles at an aid station for the bike race.

Four people stopped at the aid station and asked if I was riding.  No.  I'm not riding in this race.  I'm volunteering so I can stock up on water bottles for next years' training.

Then when everyone else was swimming the Roughwater swim, Eric, Chris and I swam to those islands and back.  And then did it again.  I guess I owed it Chris after puking on his feet.  But it was all good.

Springer was exhausted and the weekend ended with another barbecue.  And some buffoonery.

Good luck! Was it only gluten, really, that affected the asthma? I am thinking about cutting some stuff out to see if I can get an improvement in lung clearness - but I love dairy...

That looks like a REALLY good time :) Hope the elimination diet goes smoothly and identifies your problem area quickly.

OMG, I hope the elimination diet doesn't take away from Taco Tuesday. That would suck, and probably increase stress. :)

Way to swim out to those Lani Kai islands. My wife was impressed. She said, "That is a long way"

I told her you were just nuts.

Good luck with everything else. :)

How far are is that swim?! When you get there, do you just turn around and come back?! Whoa.

Good luck with the diet. Hope the stress eases a bit, too.

You know both my sister and i had GI stuff with stress, her's was a divorce, mine was just plain old type A I am crazy stuff, and she even had balance and dizziness stuff( Vertigo). I hope the diet helps but i am a firm believer that our bodies harbor stress in so many ways, one person gets back pain, another gets GI stuff, another gets Migraines. I hope some fun and time with friends helps Maggs!

We had similar weekends. I'm just glad I didn't puke on anybody. I've been through the stressed-induced stomach issues. I really, really hope all your issues are caused by something you don't really like to eat anyway. Take care of yourself.
