Between a Rock and a Not So Hard Place

Yesterday started with another amazing Mokes swim.  It wasn't on the schedule, but with these in your (friends) back yard how can you not want to swim there.  It was rougher than it looked.  And the swimming treadmill was in effect for at least 1/3 of the swim...in each direction.  Seriously there was a point where the current just shifted. And there were swells. And chop.  But the water was clear and warm.

In the afternoon I hit up Lagoon Drive for some short HARD intervals.  It's not that easy to find a place on Oahu where you can ride 30 seconds on 30 seconds off safely.  Besides your trainer.  And the view from my trainer isn't quite as nice.  One side of Lagoon Drive is the (ugly) airport.  But the other side is all ocean and rainbows.  Well not all rainbows.  Not even always rainbows.  But it's winter in Hawaii so there's usually a rainbow or two around.

As I started the ride my foot hurt.  I kept adjusting the straps on my shoes but no luck.  I eventually forgot about it and did my intervals.  Almost puking on the last one.  Something came up.  It hurt. They all hurt!  On the way back to my truck my foot hurt again.  When I took my shoe off I saw this.

A (not so) small pebble between my pinkie toe and 'ring' toe. Today my toe still hurts.  And there's no rock anymore.  I checked.  A couple off times.  But my IT band on that leg isn't hurting like it usually does after a ride.  Hmmmm....

Since it was a double workout day yesterday I was up at 4AM starving.  While I was waiting for my rice to cook (that's what I was craving... white rice with a LOT of salt), I walked Springer.  She sat down more than she walked.  That's her "WTH are we doing up at 4AM?" look.  Yes D, I'm wearing shorts, Uggs, and a sweater.  My skinny jeans were dirty.  So were the shorts and sweater, but it was 4AM.  And I played with a couple new photo aps.

Loving the rainbow with the computer app! Seems print worthy. :)

The choppy waters? Yeah that was my jealousy. So, there. Hmph.

Man I really hope that's our next duty station...

My puppy likes to look back at me when we walk/run and say "Hurry the hell up!"
